Trip of 3 days 2 nights onboard a cruise is quite fun and better than what I've expected!
The journey to Chongqing, which is another city of China, like Wuhan takes about 5 hours of bus ride. Initially, we are suppose to have an awesome dinner first before going onboard but due to a minor accident on the road cause us to eat the cruise's food for dinner. I think the accident on the highway is really minor as heard from the rest, they said that our bus hit the other bus's windscreen, I suppose... and it's just a minor crack. The traffic police is even called to the scene as both buses pulled up on the highway. Spent quite a long time before the situation is settled.
The meals on the cruise is bad but its not as bad as what we thought it would be. And the water from the tap is quite clean. We sort of over prepared because we brought a lot of food like bread, cup noodles, soup, milo, coffee and even 6 bottles of 1.5 litres water. We even up carrying 4 of them back. HAHA.
Our beds in the cabin is not as bed as well. It's like 5 times thicker than our hostel here in Wuhan. It's quite clean with toilet bowls and television as well! We were fooling around saying that it's been a really long time since we see toilet bowls and television and say that we need to pack them including the bed into our luggages and bring it back to our hostel!
Despite that, the cabin itself don't have heater like how our hostel has so its really cold at night! Also, there were no water heater and most of us didn't bathe on the first day. Second day, we bathed by collecting hot water in our kettles and mixing it with the cold water from the tap to bathe. It's really tiring and cold throughout the bathing process!
On the first night, we get to experience of the rising water level at the dam! It's really cool! Within 30 mins, we are raised to about 44m!
Took many pictures and video of the rising water level!
The second day, we transferred to another ship and its really cold on it because this ship is like meant for us to look at the scenery and thus it's not really sheltered from the wind. Took a couple of pictures too! After that, we alighted from the ship and changed to sampan boats. It's my second experience on a sampan and I'm still as afraid as before because it's so shaky and unbalanced!
I think the rowers onboard the boat is really strong because most of them are aged people as the young ones went out to the town to seek for better job opportunities. There are 3 rowers in front, and 2 at the back. They rowed for like an hour and yet still going at the consistent speed. When we cheered for them to go faster, they even have the energy to do so. Really admire the resilience and strength they have.
After that, we headed back to the ship and travelled for a while before returning back to our cruise! Studied for our lecture test then played games before sleeping!
Alighted the cruise at about 8am and visited the power stations and all! Stopped by for lunch at a resturant! The food is really great there! And we get to witness another wedding ceremony! After lunch, we took the bus to start our journey back to Wuhan. Reached our school in the evening!
Overall, I think its a really good experience! :)
PS : Blogger still don't allow me to upload the photos :( It makes my blog posts look so wordy!!
